What is Inbox Dollars?
Inbox Dollars is a site that pays you to perform certain tasks online. Tasks include taking surveys, reading emails, signing up for promotional offers, watching videos, playing games, and performing internet searches. Unlike typical paid survey sites, Inbox Dollars offers many ways to make money.
Is Inbox Dollars a scam?
I can say from experience that Inbox Dollars is NOT a scam. However, you should not join this site expecting to make a large amount of money. Tasks range from $0.01 to $20.00 each and can include searching the internet using their search page to signing up for promotional offers such as Netflix. In your account manager you will see your current earnings and you can view a detailed breakdown of tasks completed and money earned.
You must reach a minimum balance of $30 to request a check. Payments are made by paper check. Processing of payments can take a while – anywhere from 30 to 60 days for your first check.
How do I sign up?
To sign up for Inbox Dollars, simply go to www.inboxdollars.com and click on the Join Today button. You will then be asked for your name, email address, physical address (where the check will be mailed), age, and gender. You will not be asked for any credit card or bank information. Once you’re registered and you’ve logged in, you will notice that your account already has $5 in it! Now you only have to make $25 to receive your first check.
Once you’ve signed up you will be invited to take your first three surveys! These are general profile surveys to get to know more about you and will determine which surveys in the future you are invited to. It’s best to be completely honest with these profile surveys.
If you provide false information to try and get more survey offers, you will just be wasting your time as each survey has “qualification questions” to determine if you are qualified to take the survey. If you are not qualified then you will be sent back to the home page and will not receive payment. So fill out the profile surveys accurately to ensure most of the surveys you don’t qualify for are automatically weeded out for you.
How much money can I make?
How much money you make depends on how much time you put into it. I’ll tell you right now, you will not get rich through this or any similar site. Think of it as extra income for very easy tasks, not an alternative to a real job. If you only click on the paid emails and do nothing else, you will only make about $0.10 per day. You can do up to 3 surveys directly from the site for $0.50 each. These surveys generally take 20-45 minutes to complete. You will also receive survey offers via email and these generally pay more for the time they take. There is no limit to the number of invitational surveys you can take per day.
You can also do any of the free offers any time. These include trying Netflix free for one month, signing up with other survey sites, and signing up for credit cards. All of the offers I’ve tried and seen seem legitimate, but always use your best judgement as these offers are not directly supplied by Inbox Dollars.
What are the different tasks?
There are two types of surveys you can do. Every day, you will see three different survey offers and each one will pay you $.50 if you qualify. Other surveys are sent out several times a day by email and can range from $1.50 for a 10 minute survey to $0.25 for a 45 minute survey. So it’s up to you to pick and choose which surveys you’re willing to take.
WARNING: Some of these offers are by Toluna, which I now believe is a scam. The last couple Toluna surveys I’ve taken took about 15-25 minutes each and I answered all the questions honestly. These started with general qualification questions which I completed then I answered the survey questions about a certain type of product and my opinions on it. On the final question it said “Click next to submit survey” then on the next screen it simply said “Sorry, our quota for this survey has been filled.” After I looked into it, there are many complaints online about Toluna, and many negative reviews of Inbox Dollars seem to be referring to these scam surveys. However, since they are not directly provided by Inbox Dollars I try not to count it against them.
Paid emails are sent out several times a day and generally contain affiliate offers. You simply open the email, look at its contents, and click on “Confirm Paid Email” on the bottom. That’s it! You’ve just earned $0.02 with the potential to earn much more if you take them up on the offer.
You can now use the Inbox Dollars search engine to make your searches. All you need to do is go to www.inboxdollars.com/search and enter your search term. For every two searches you are awarded $0.01, and up to $0.05 per day.
Get paid to watch videos! All you do is click on cash videos, and if videos are available you can watch them for $0.02 each. Videos are usually streamed through a YouTube or Vimeo player. Videos are usually 30 seconds to 3 minutes long. After you watch a video, you can go back to the cash videos page and watch another if there is one available. Often times you will watch the same video several times – but hey, you’re still getting paid!
Play some of the games on the site for money! These are common internet games such as Bejeweled, Scrabble, and Wheel of Fortune. You can play against others and if you want you can upgrade to playing for cash. If you have experience in online betting this could be just for you.
100% Free Offers…
These are generally trial offers or registering for other sites. For example, you could sign up for Netflix for one month (free) and Inbox Dollars may pay you $7.00. Before the month is up you can choose to cancel your subscription or keep it. Either way, you’ve earned $7 through Inbox Dollars. You can also register for other survey sites if you enjoy surveys. It’s hard to list them all. Currently there are over 150 offers. So once you sign up you should browse through these and see if there any you are interested in.
This is a feature I like but haven’t had a chance to use much. You can browse their list of manufacturer’s coupons and if you find something you like, simply print it out and present it next time you make a purchase. They work at virtually any grocery store or general goods stores such as Target. These coupons will give you a discount on popular products such as cereal, household cleaners, frozen foods and more. And once you’ve redeemed a coupon, Inbox Dollars will reward you with an extra $0.10 each! This is probably the easiest way to save money while earning a little extra from Inbox Dollars.
You can browse through their selection of retailers and using the links provided, you can earn back up to 2%. Retailers include major names such as Wal Mart, Target, Kohls, and Apple.
What is the minimum payout?
The minimum payout is $30. Once you’ve reached this amount and requested a check, you will automatically become a Gold Member. Processing for your first check will take 30-60 days, during which your account must stay active. This means you must, at the very least, continue to read the paid emails. If your account is deactivated for inactivity you may forfeit any earnings. Rule of thumb: If the check is not in your hands then it’s not yours yet.
What is account inactivity?
Account inactivity is when you do not have any activity in your account for 10 days. You can avoid this by doing any task, including reading paid emails.
How long does it take to receive a check?
For new members, your first check will have a processing time of 30-60 days. So if you reach minimum payout and request payment on August 1, then you should have a check in your hands by October 1. Once you’ve received your first check you will become a Gold Member and future checks will take less time (~30 days).
What are the Sweepstakes?
Sweepstakes are incentives provided to members for completing surveys, referring new members, making shopping purchases, etc. A new sweepstakes is offered every month. For example, one month a sweepstakes could be for taking surveys. For every survey you take, you are given one entry into the sweepstakes. Take 10 surveys and you get 10 entries. At the end of the month several prizes are awarded ranging from gift cards to video game consoles. For July, they are offering one of the best rewards I’ve seen: A $250 gas card. Imagine how nice that would be Roadtrip anyone?
What is Gold Membership?
Gold membership is essentially a reward for members who have stuck with the program and received their first check. As a gold member you will receive faster payments (you must still reach the $30 minimum), double sweepstakes entries, and bonus referral rewards.
Your first check will take some time to receive once you’ve requested it. This because Inbox Dollars processes new checks once a month. As a gold member, checks are processed weekly, so you will receive your money much faster.
Double sweepstakes entries…
You earn 2-for-1 sweepstakes entries for every entry you earn!
How does the referral program work?
You can refer friends to Inbox Dollars through email using a form provided on the site. Simply enter their names and email addresses, and Inbox Dollars will send them a personalized invitation. You can also use the provided banners if you have a website or blog… or even Facebook and Twitter. For every person you refer, you can earn up to 10% of everything they make!
Bonus referral rewards…
This is one of my favorite aspects of the program. If new users sign up and they were not directly referred by someone else, then their 10% referral earnings is distributed to all the Gold Members. So every week you’ll receive an email saying you’ve earned xx amount of money, and you didn’t have to do anything!
What are the alternatives to Inbox Dollars?
This is one of the few sites of its type that I know of and would recommend. Another site that is very similar is Cash Crate. I recently started using Cash Crate so I’m not sure how it compares side by side with Inbox Dollars yet, but so far it is very promising.
Some other survey sites I’ve tried and liked are Clear Voice Surveys and Global Test Market. Clear Voice Surveys has some of the best surveys but they do not payout in cash. Instead you can get a prepaid credit card or an Amazon.com gift card. I like the Amazon.com gift cards because there’s always something you can get on Amazon and they never expire. GTM has a very high cash out threshold, so I would not recommend them unless you plan to spend a lot of time online taking surveys. I’ll post reviews on these sites as soon as I have more experience with them.
Inbox Dollars is a genuine and reliable paid survey and task site. You can get started today and with a little effort, you can have $10 in your account within 24 hours. There are also methods out there to sign up for specific offers and make your first $30 in the first hour if you are ambitious.
You do not need a credit card to sign up, so there is no risk involved. Simply head on over to Inbox Dollars and sign up to give them a try.
